Sergei Napolskikh, previously Deputy General Director, Production and Technology, has been appointed General Director of Stoilensky (part of NLMK Group), one of the most efficient iron ore producers in the world.

NLMK Group (LSE: NLMK), Russia’s leading manufacturer of steel and one of the most efficient steel companies in the world, has announced the opening of its trade office in São Paolo (Brazil), and a logistics office in São Francisco do Sul (Brazil).

As a result of implementing OHS programs, NLMK Group has reduced the amount of injuries at its Russian sites from the beginning of 2014 by 40%. At the Lipetsk site, the decrease was approximately 50% year-on-year.

NLMK announces the start up of a new 300 mtpa BOF at Novolipetsk (its main production site in Lipetsk). Together with other projects under NLMK’s Technical Upgrade Program, the new facility will boost Novolipetsk steelmaking capacity 36% to 12.4 mtpa.
